SERVICES

The House

The House is a short term transitional housing program for single women in the greater Phoenixville area. The House offers an intensive program coupled with safe and supportive housing where women can gain the skills and confidence needed to plan for their future. While at The House, women take part in workshops and case management services focused on connection to resources, goal setting and attainment, building basic life skills, building self-esteem and coping skills, and returning to the workforce.
At The House, women are required to get a job, participate in a mandatory savings program, be free of drugs and alcohol, take part in mandatory PWO workshops and meetings, and be able to live with others in a shared housing environment. To be successful at The House, women need to be able to commit to their financial, physical, mental, and social wellbeing and to do the work necessary to achieve their goals.

The Process

Women can access our application by clicking HERE. After the application, we hold 2 in person interviews at our Phoenixville location  for all potentially eligible women. Women interested in the program must be willing and able to work, be drug and alcohol free, be able to safely climb stairs, and be willing to get a Covid vaccination. Those who are not a good fit for our services will be referred to more appropriate resources.

The Next Step House

The Next Step House offers safe and affordable housing for single women in a shared housing environment. The Next Step House accommodates four women in a shared apartment, each with their own bedroom. In this program, each woman pays rent and has the option of applying for a voucher through the county to cover a portion of their rent. Utilities are covered by PWO.

“The best thing that has resulted from my stay at The House was that I learned to save. Before coming to The House, I spent everything I earned. Now I know how to save and have continued to do so.” – The House Program Participant
