Lynn
Lynn stayed with the Phoenixville Women’s Outreach for almost a year. As a part of our transitional housing program, women who stay at The House are required to work for income so that they can increase their savings and sense of self esteem. Lynn faced many barriers to employment that many of us take for granted. Due to her age and citizenship status, Lynn did not find full time employment nor was she able to obtain social security. This greatly affected her moral and ability to save. Despite this, Lynn wanted to contribute to her community and began volunteering as much time as possible for various organizations. Lynn obtained affordable housing within Petra Housing. Lynn moved into her own apartment after almost one year with us and is still doing very well after being on her own for the past year.
