Samantha

Samantha came to The House after sleeping between a tent and her car for several months. In a matter of months Samantha had lost everything. She was let go from her job. She had to find new homes for her pets and put what belongings she had into storage. It was difficult for her to give up the idea of housing her adult child and grandchildren. While at The House, she was provided with a safe and comfortable environment where she could focus on herself for the first time in her life. Through workshops and support she was taught how to budget her money, time, and energy in a way that prioritized herself. Samantha left the house with a full time job and savings. She had begun to repair her relationship with her adult child. Upon exiting the house Samantha remarked, “The House saved me. I will continue to use what was taught. I learned that I am important and that I am worth it. Everyone here means so much to me and I will take you with me wherever I go”.
