Charlene

In coming to The House, Charlene made the brave decision to leave her abusive and violent marriage. This meant giving up her home and moving away from her 6 children. This was not an easy decision, but necessary for her to rebuild her life. At The House Charlene had the opportunity to focus on herself for the first time. She was able to get major surgery and recuperate peacefully at The House. Charlene began new mental health treatment to process the trauma she had experienced and learned to understand her past while building skills to help her navigate her future. She worked vigorously and maintained employment at several jobs while at The House. This allowed her to regularly contribute to her savings and build a foundation for her future. Upon graduating from The House, Charlene moved on to shared housing where she will continue to use the skills she learned at The House.
