Becca
Becca, a longtime resident of Phoenixville, left a violent long-term relationship to come to The House. Becca said that her biggest goal on arrival at The House “was feeling safe. And I felt safe at The House”. With this sense of security, Becca was able to take the steps necessary to rebuild her life. This was the first time in decades that she had been on her own and it was admittedly scary for her. Becca had worked hard all her life but she questioned whether she could make it on her own. The House gave her the confidence and support she needed to start over while continuing to live in the community she knew. During her time at The House she remained active and worked several jobs while continuing to volunteer in the Phoenixville community. When Becca graduated from the program, she had saved enough money to move into her own apartment. She continues to nurture the friendships she made while at The House and be an active member of the Phoenixville community.
