Phoenixville Federal Bank & Trust becomes sponsor for Matching Savings Program at PWO

Phoenixville Women’s Outreach is delighted to announce that Phoenixville Federal Bank & Trust has committed to be the new sponsor of the Savings Match Program at their transitional housing program, The House.

PWO has been offering a transitional housing program for women experiencing homelessness or housing insecurities since 2015.  The program makes a strong commitment to each of their clients and asks each participant to make a strong commitment to herself. One of these commitments is to save 75% of their net income throughout their stay (which can be up to a year.) When the program was new, PWO partnered with BB&T Bank to partially match the women’s savings. In 8 years, a total of $110,000 was saved by the participants at The House and the matching grant awarded almost $10,000. After the recent merge of BB&T with SunTrust Bank to form Truist, PWO was looking for a new local partner for the matching program. Phoenixville Federal bank & Trust has always shown generous dedication to the local community.  The agreement with Phoenixville Women’s Outreach is just one more contribution that proves their support of local programs. “When Andrea approached us with the opportunity to support the savings program, I immediately thought about how well it fits within our mission. Helping our customers save money and better their financial picture improves their quality of life,” says Chuck Benz, Sr.Vice President/Chief Retail Banking Officer/Security Officer at Phoenixville Federal Bank & Trust.”
