Meredith
Prior to coming to The House, Meredith had been told that she would never be able to live on her own, or manage her own affairs. Meredith’s family had maintained poor control of her SSI and had contributed to her debt, limiting her ability to be financially secure. During her time at The House Meredith focused on her finances. After seven months of financial guidance from The House, Meredith payed off her debts and gained control of her SSI. Meredith next step after The House was an apartment through the Housing Authority. With her own apartment, Meredith pays her own rent, manages her own finances, and continues to live debt free. Meredith has gained a local support system through the volunteers she connected with while at Phoenixville Women’s Outreach who continue to guide Meredith on her journey through independence. Meredith now gives back to PWO by volunteering her time with The House to support women in her community,
