Housing and Support for Women

Phoenixville Women's Outreach

Emily came to The House from an emergency shelter, looking for stability and a chance to start over. She quickly found an employment training program that provided her with income and the skills necessary to reenter the workforce. Emily met with several financial counselors while at The House. She saved her income, paid down her credit cards, cleared her medical debts, and worked to build her credit to an over 800 score. “I had never been able to save until I got to The House. I was intimidated by my finances. Now I know that I am capable of handling them.” Emily moved on to shared housing after 12 months at The House. She had saved over $3000 at The House to start over.
